Emoji Time

Emoji Time! I wear this bag wayyy too much but it honestly just makes me so happy every time I use it. Thank you Skinnydip London and ASOS for making my life complete! I mean who wouldn’t love a bag modeled after such an awesome emoji? The color is also the perfect electric yellow, making it the standout of any outfit. Inspired by the bag, I decided to keep this look fun and graphic. As mentioned in a previous post “Classic Co-ord”, I love a good matching set. This set from Zara is unique because it is a sweatshirt/skirt combo in a nice soft sweatshirt material. Therefore, this outfit not only looks good but feels super comfortable!

To glam up the look, I threw on my over-the-knee boots and a cool ear crawler. I’m really into the ear crawlers lately because I love the fact that they look like multiple piercings but only use one hole. It’s like the holy grail for me (haha) because I’ve always appreciated the look of multiple ear piercings but could never commit to more than one hole. I got these from Francesca’s and I find they have a pretty good selection of styles. Baublebar also has a lot to choose from.

Overall, I really like this look because it’s just so fun! The graphic elements of the bag and co-ord work really well together and create an outfit that can be dressed up or down. I could’ve easily paired this look with a cool pair of sneakers for an athleisure vibe. Also, don’t be surprised  if the bag is a recurring feature in the future because I’m sure it’ll make many appearances on the blog. I just hope that it brings you the same joy and energy it brings me!

Sheerly Modern

Yet another all black look however this time I’m wearing all ASOS! The sheerness of the romper is so elegant in the way that it exposes the shoulder and collarbone area, but it also has a modern edge because it is all black and is a romper instead of a dress. This is a look that would be perfect for a night out.

The great thing about the romper is it can be dressed up or dressed down. I chose to dress it up by pairing it with the over-the-knee boots, and embellished clutch. I feel like there is always an instant sass that emerges when you put on a great pair of over-the-knee boots, like an “I can take on the world” feeling. It’s safe to say that I felt that in this look.

To finish off the look, I put on a pair of statement earrings to add some interest around the face. Also, in keeping with the modern flare, I created a slightly winged eyeliner look, with a grayish mauve hue on the lips using Colourpop’s Creme Gel Liner in “Swerve”, and their Ultra Matte Lipstick in “Trap”.

Sequin Blooms

Sequins are in full bloom today in this look! I absolutely love sequins and embellishments and that is definitely reflected in my closet. Do I have more sequin items than your average person needs? Yeah...probably, but is there such a thing as too much sparkle? Absolutely not! The sequin floral motif on the skirt from ASOS  is what instantly sold me. That, and the navy blue/magenta color combination.

What do you pair a sequin skirt with? Embellished magenta shoes of course! This is how my mind works haha. Sometimes two statement pieces in an outfit is better than one. These B by Brian Atwood shoes are from a Hautelook sale are both elegant and bold wrapped up into a pair of 5 inch heels.

Sticking to the color palette, I topped of the look with a textured navy crop top from Topshop. Since the top is very structured and boxy, I thought it juxtaposed the slim fit of the pencil skirt quite nicely. All together the look strikes a balance between classic sophistication and  fiercely fun.

Co-ord Classic

There is nothing I love more than a sharp looking two piece co-ord. It can be a skirt/top combo or shorts and a jacket, as long as they match I am a fan! I tend to find a lot of great co-ords on ASOS, which is where I got this set from. I fell in love instantly through my computer screen the moment I saw it on the model.

What is great about this set, aside from the amazing red/orange color, is the romper/blazer combo. I felt it was a pretty unique pairing, and I loved the cutout midriff of the romper, paired with the classic blazer silhouette. It has a tailored quality that is elegant, while the color makes it edgy and fun. Another bonus of this look is the fact that the romper has pockets. In my eyes, pockets are always a plus!

I completed the look with an embellished clutch, also from ASOS, that picked up some of the reddish tones. I threw on some heels from DSW that are a sort of greyish blue, which also complements the color of the co-ord. Overall, this look makes me feel super confident and polished and is great for a night out on the town!

Color Explosion

This look is basically the complete opposite of my last post! It’s pretty much like a color explosion. Sometimes it can be challenging to wear a lot of bold colors together, however I find that it becomes easier when you have one item to tie all of the colors together.

In this case, I started with the multicolored, bedazzled shoes by Steve Madden. They are definitely a statement piece and can be the focal point of a simple outfit. Rather than simplifying a look, I wanted to create an outfit that was inspired by the shoes and amplified their energy.

To do this, I pulled out some of the colors I saw in the shoes and separated them into pieces. I started with a yellow blazer from Zara (they are the go-to for a colorful blazer!). I then took a bit of a risk by pairing the blazer with an embellished magenta top from Francesca’s. It is successful because the embellishment plays off of the bedazzled shoes, and the colors are complementary. I opted for simple jeans to dress the outfit down, and an intense cobalt blue clutch to complete the look.

Valentine's Day Look

I'm feeling the love in this dress by Coast! I purchased this dress for my cousin's wedding over the summer and was counting down the days until I could wear it again. The A-line skirt and pink gradient feels both feminine and modern.

Next, I threw on the most beautiful shoes to ever exist...the Aminah Abdul Jillil bow pumps! I've been waiting to get my hands on these forever because they aren't cheap, but they are so worth it! They'll add a touch of elegance to any outfit because of the sculptural bow, but in this case I think it is the color that ties the look together. I love how the red caps off the pink gradient.

To finish off the look, I put on Colourpop's Ultra Matte Lipstick in Creeper. It's the perfect Valentine's Day red.

Overall, I think the key to putting together a great outfit for Valentine's Day is to wear things that make you feel beautiful. Whether you're in a relationship, or celebrating your single-hood, confidence looks good on everyone.

Happy Valentine's Day!
